These were fun! Recipe- 6 cups of flour, 6 cups of salt, and 2-3 cups of water mixed. Add the food coloring using whatever color you want. We used green for the land and blue for the water. We took cardboard and drew out a map of Egypt only drawing the lines showing the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and Nile River; the rest is land. We used our salt/flour mixture by pressing it on the cardboard delineating land and water and presto-a salt map! This mixture takes a week to harden and then we will label each river, sea and each section of upper and lower Egypt. The mixture feels like moon sand and really make little mess and I let each of the kids mix it and spread it. You could use this stuff for all kinds of projects. The mixture was enough to make three maps 8 1/2 by 11. Try it, we had a blast. I will post the pics of the finished projects when they harden and are labeled.
WARNING--Andrew learned the hard way that even though it smells like a delicious biscuit, it tastes like a drink of ocean wate

r! Don't eat it!
