It's a Magical World

I read a blog today written by one of my very good friends that got me thinking. She was reflecting about some of her favorite "new" things and so I thought I would write about some of our family's favorite "new things" only the more I thought about it, our favorite "new things" are actually "old things".

For starters, Cookie, our dog, has a favorite new thing; It's having the kids home. She is such a spoiled dog, in that she has us here for her every need all of the time.

Second, Joey has a new favorite thing--its called dinner! His wife is back in the kitchen! I love the fall and I am very excited about finding new recipes to try out on the fam. Last night, we had Onion Beef De Jus, a recipe I found in a Taste of Home cooking magazine. This is Joey's new favorite dish.

Third, My new favorite thing is my house with the windows up! Have I mentioned I love fall! Hanging out at the house with the windows up and the breeze blowing in is the best!

Fourth, the kids' new favorite thing is the tree pictured above. This tree has been a favorite of ours for awhile but the kids just can't live without it these days. Tucked away inside the branches of this tree are two children with sticks, books and other various treausres that get their imaginations running. Most of their afternoons are spent in this tree.

With the political news, economic woes, and all other stresses of everyday life, sitting on my bed taking a break with the breeze blowing in watching my children play in a tree gives the illusion that it is a magical world. I am thankful for these days.
