By an overwhelming majority, Woman has far surpassed Cake. Round Two went off without a hitch. It took about 2 hours and it felt as though the cake was making itself. I guess after 5 batches of the same cake it becomes almost mechanical. The cakes were wrapped up and placed in the freezer. They actually fit in mine and so all of the cakes made are in my freezer. Yeah!

Round Three was a tricky one. This would be the round where Woman would begin to decorate by making the Alabama "A" that would be affixed atop the cake. Woman was a bit repulsed at the fact this was an Alabama "A" but alas, she overcame her disgust and persevered. It was a bloody conflict and the kitchen was a mess. Woman tried to make gloves to cut down on the red coloring that would become a temporary part of her hands but the gloves proved ineffective and Woman just sunk her bare hands into the mixture.

Woman concentrated hard on her task.

And the results turned out pretty good! This was Woman's favorite round of all! If the cakes flop, at least we will have this flawless "A" to gaze at.
Today is Round Four: Cake Transportation Day! We will travel to Pell City today and transport the cakes to the Thompson household there.
Tomorrow will be Round Five when we actually take these cakes out of the foil and begin to cut them down to size, insert dowels, and buttercream them. This will, by far, be the most difficult step in the process. No turning back after they are cut!
Round Six will be on Saturday morning when it will be time to put the chocolate ganache on the cakes. This will be the trickiest step of all because this is the step where Woman gets creative! I will not be able to blog until the event is over so say a little prayer and I will show you the results good or bad on Sunday.
Hopefully this will be a grand slam event for---WOMAN!!!
