First Day of CoOp

Today was our first day to participate in Homeschool CoOp. It was very exciting to meet other moms and make new friends. We arrived at 9:00 am after having our family devotion time around the table. First up--big group assembly and meet and greet. The kids then split into their appropriate age groups and the fun began. Andrew headed to P.E first where he did what he described as "killer exercises" while Alora traveled to Turkey in her geography class. Each class was 55 minutes long. I assisted in Writing classes all morning. I was very excited to help in the writing dept. but found my biggest challenge to be being quiet. I exercised major restraint and worked hard not to take over the class. The teacher was doing a fabulous job but it is just in me to lead, so I sat back and stayed still. Hard I tell you!

Next up, Andrew headed to Art Class where the students made their own paint out of chalk and egg yolks! His creation is called "Google". Alora went to Zoology lab second where she studied flight and birds. They made gliders in class and tested their ability to stay in the air.

T
Third, Alora went to Art where she made her own paint and then created a beautiful picture of a rainbow while Andrew went to his favorite class of the day, Zoology.

We took a break for lunch and were able to eat together and catch up and then it was off to our last classes. Alora and I headed to P.E. and Andrew was off to Geography. Andrew had a blast eating Turkish Delight and making a map of Turkey.

We definitely give four thumbs up to Homeschool CoOp day! It really was a lot of fun and very educational. I am extremely thankful for the effort they are making to have good quality classes. Yeah for CoOp!
