SNOW! Cookie's ACL!

Can you believe she tore the other ACL? Yep, it actually happened around October, but we needed to pay off the first leg before we incurred debt on another one. Our poor dog went from a slight limp to a leg lifted in the air that she would not put on the ground. She basically became a three-legged dog. So on January 4th I drove her to B'ham to have her 2nd surgery.

The surgery went well and the pressure is just not as bad as before. The other leg already has metal in it so there is no need to try and protect it-just take care of the incision and keep her on a leash letting the operated on leg get strong. As soon as we got her home--it SNOWED! She loves the snow and I think it cheered her up. Isn't she so cute in her new Auburn sweater? My Aunt Virginia bought her it for Christmas and she just loves sporting her team colors. She is doing well in her recovery and she had her staples taken out last Wednesday. She is gaining gobs of weight due to having to just lay around but she is doing a great job in her crate and we are not dealing with her anxiety issues of the past. She is being nice and level!

It wasn't much snow but we made the best of it! It actually stayed on the ground for about three days because it has been amazingly cold here in our southern home.

Alora loves to look at it but she in not much for getting out in it as opposed to her brother who likes to look at it, lie in it, eat it, skate on it and whatever else his creative mind can come up with.
We have four large snowballs in our freezer now that he has informed me, "We are saving them until the fourth of July!" Apparently someone is getting a concussion on my birthday!
Ahhh... the joys of snow!
