In December we were able to take a little vacation and head to Atlanta, Georgia. We have many friends who live in the Atlanta area and we were so excited to be getting away for a few days. Agenda- Nutcracker in Birmingham on Friday at 10am, Meet Jay and Frances and fam for dinner on Friday night at Chic Fil A, head to The Bethlehem Walk and then spend the night at their house. Saturday head to Stone Mountain to meet Craig and Shannon and fam for some serious Christmas fun. Spend the night with Jay and Fran and go to church with them on Sunday, head back home just in time for Christmas caroling with our church.
We met my mom and dad in Birmingham for the Nutcracker on Friday. This was a field trip through my coop so some of their friends were there with us. As soon it was over we had a great lunch at Red Robin mmmmm. and then headed toward Atlanta. It is always great to get together with our friends and this trip was awesome. We had dinner at Chic Fil A and then headed to the Bethlehem Walk. We have never been to anything like this and it was COOL!!! I have many pictures but they are locked in my computer so I will just have to tell you about it for now, pictures later. A church in their area sponsored the event and provided the man power. The entire place looked like a flea market. Booths everywhere and we entered through a large stone gate guarded heavily by Roman soldiers proclaiming loudly, "Pay your taxes to Caesar!" It was obvious from the beginning we were here, in Bethlehem, for the census and we were ushered through the gates, with many others, like cattle. Inside the gate their were many people dressed in clothing consistent with life in Bethlehem running shops, passing out samples, of dates, apricots, raisings, spices, fish, and all sorts of other things. It was great. We heard some mean speaking in the market place about the coming Christ. We toured the largest home in Bethlehem. We pet a very hairy sheep, goat, rooster, and CAMEL!!! It was so great and felt very real. Everyone played their part well! We ended our 2 hour journey through the market at a stable complete with donkey, angels, Mary, Joseph and a newborn babe--JESUS. What a way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We loved it!On Saturday we headed to Stone Mountain but first--lunch at MELLOW MUSHROOM! Delicious!
Next stop--Stone Mountain to meet up with the Baughns! We had a blast riding the train and hearing the Christmas story, looking at Christmas lights,
throwing and shooting balls in The Great Barn,
and participating in the many shows and activities they have there.
It was a full day of fun and the best part was sharing it with our friends.
It was cold and poor Joey was recovering from a major sinus infection that had his ears really out of whack. He was a trooper though and had a good time despite his dizzy noggin'.

When the sun went down, it was beautifully lit with hundreds of Christmas lights. The Christmas angel paid us a visit and it snowed on Main Street! So cool! Of course, Andrew spent the entire time trying to figure up how her zip line worked, as she flew over us and disappeared into the night sky. Fireworks lit up the side of the mountain. What a great night and it was so not crowded because the weather was a bit drizzly but not enough to deter us!!!
