Chick Fil A- 5K

If you have never heard of Tim Hawkins-you really need to go to You Tube and pull up some of his comedy routines. He has become a favorite in our home and the kids have watched his videos over and over and over and over. The first favorite that they ever saw is a song that he sings about Chick-Fil-A! Last Saturday, I put on my new t-shirt (with cow in a running skirt, sporting an mp3 and running shoes) and headed out the door to run the Chick-Fil-A 5K in my hometown. Joey and the kids came right at race time. It was so good to have my family with me!

It has been a while since Leah and I have run a race together and I was looking forward to having my friend run with me. We, of course, had to have our pic with the cow!
The winner of this race received free Chick-Fil-A for a year!

It was a GORGEOUS day! The weather was perfect and the course was also perfect. Very enjoyable.

Being a hometown event, we saw many familiar and friendly faces.

It took me 29:11! That is a great time for and so I was really excited about it!

Ah, my man!

You would not believe all of the food that was given to us after the race! Our hometown knows how to do it right! Starbucks free coffee and lemon pound cake with icing, Costco sandwiches, donuts, and cookies, all the water and cokes we could want, free chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A and tons of fruit! WE burned 300 calories to consume 1000!
It was AWESOME!
