I cannot tell you how many times I thought I had killed the butterflies during their chrysalis time! But we were so excited when all of a sudden- they were out and drying their wings on the sides of their habitat! YEAH!
As soon as they come out, they begin to dry their wings and then in a day it is time to feed them. What do butterflies eat? Grape Gatorade, of course! At least, that is what the instructions say. So we used saturated cotton balls and placed them in a shallow container. We were able to watch them feed and flitter about.
