Kennebunkport and George H.W. Bush

On Wednesday we headed out of Portland to take in more of Maine-destination, Kennebunkport, Maine, home of George H.W. Bush. His home was beautiful all situated out on a private penninsula overlooking the ocean. We were standing on rocks with a few others admiring from as close as we could get.

We were standing there admiring his home when all of a sudden out walked the President with a few friends accompanied by the Secret Service.
The entourage was quite fun to watch.
The President is the one sporting the yellow pants and the blue blazer.
They all boarded the boats with H.W. at the wheel and headed out into the open ocean. The secret service had their eyes on us the entire time.
We flailed our arms at the President and he waved back.
WOO HOO! So cool!
What a breathtaking view he wakes up to every morning!

We were laughing so hard during this picture. The wind was really picking up while I was trying to hold the President's house in my hand. Wild Momma!

This plaque was standing next to us on the rocks where we were watching H.W.

We jumped back in the car and headed out to another penninsula to eat lunch on the end of a dock and take in another lighthouse view.

The lighthouse is waaay out there and appears as a blip on my screen but God gave us some fabulous rainbow action to go with our lighthouse. How awesome is that!

Mmm...Clam Chowder for dinner! I could get used to this.

We had a great dinner but all day long we kept getting weather bug warnings on my phone speaking of Tornado Warnings in coastal Maine. The weather was perfect all day but as soon as we finished eating IT CAME. The storm rolled in as we rolled out, making for a very exciting trip back to Portland packed with U-turns, downed power poles, collapsed buildings, down trees blocking the road, emergency vehicles, blinding rain and lightning and a HUGE power outage in Portland. You would have thought we were back home! Who knew Maine had such?!?

WE made it back to the hotel safely in time for some serious shut eye. Great day! Great fun! Great Adventure!
