Worldview Wednesday:World Craft Village

Well...It is that time again. Time to start thinking about CHRISTMAS! Can you believe it? Only four months to go! I usually don't begin thinking about such things so soon but I received my WorldCraft catalog just a few days ago. If you are not familiar with this organization you need to check out the website-http://worldcraftsvillage.com/. Two years ago we received this catalog and I have been hooked ever since.

WorldCrafts and its local partners develop fair-trade businesses that provide sustainable income and offer eternal hope for impoverished people throughout the world. Operating under fair trade federation standards, WorldCrafts and its artisan groups worldwide embody values that help men and women earn a living with dignity and escape the grips of poverty. World Crafts is a division of the WMU.

There are artisans all over the world who have handcrafted items displayed in the catalog. There are so many lovely things! I WANT IT ALL! I go through their catalog each year and find presents to bless others with at Christmas, that in turn, provide these artisans with income and the ability to hear the gospel. Accompanied with each gift, there is a write up about each artisan (that I print off from the website), so each person who receives the gift knows exactly where it came from and who it blessed. It"s a triple blessing!!! I am blessed, the gift receiver is blessed, and the artisan is blessed. It is such a joy each year to actively participate with World Craft Village.

There is tons on the website. Artisan Bios, Recipes from around the world, the Catalog, Party theme ideas (if you want to host a party to bring attention to the organization and so much more. The recipes are AWESOME! I will be hosting a World Craft party at my house in October!

Why get started early? Last year I did not place my order until November and many things were already out of stock. This year I am placing my order early! I am so excited about it.
