Just a few short weeks ago, we found out that Joey would have to take a business trip to Washington D.C. I have never been to D.C. and the kids and I will be beginning American History in the fall--IT was perfect! So, we decided to make plans and take the kids to D.C. Joey would not begin his conference until Monday, so we left early Saturday morning so we could get at least a day and a half together as a family before the kids and I were on our own. From the beginning it was a blast!
This was Alora's first plane ride and Andrew's first that he remembers. They got their wings and an invite to the cockpit where they were able to put on the captain's hat and push a couple buttons--Awesome! It was a great way to begin the trip.
We arrived in D.C. around lunch time and we discovered very quickly that the kids favorite part of this trip would be all of the public transportation we would take. They were so excited! Andrew's favorite thing was the METRO!
We rode airplanes, escalators, airport trams (Atlanta), moving sidewalks, the METRO trains, buses, touring trams, elevators, and cars--It was alot of fun with the kiddos! Everything is magic; the simplest things become highly fascinating; and the smallest convience becomes an amazing invention! I love it!
More to come on Washington D.C.
