Andrew has joined cub scouts. We were so excited to find an active pack right here in our home town. Last year we were involved in the city where I taught and it was quite a drive for us. Monday was his first night. This is something Joey and Andrew have both looked forward to but it would serve to be a busy night for sure. I am leading a ladies Bible study and so it was the perfect night for father and son to spend some time together doing man stuff. Being a minister, brings many surprises and Monday night would be no different. Andrew and Dad blasted off first to the hospital to see a sweet, dear lady who is a patient there. They were all blessed by this visit. She has been especially fond of Andrew when she has seen him at the nursing home on visits with his dad. Second, it was off to cub scouts where Andrew was very encouraged to see some boys he already knew and make some new friends. Last, it was on to the funeral home, where Joey needed to visit with a family who was grieving the loss of a loved one. Andrew, patiently waited in the waiting area while the adults visited in the viewing room. Joey snapped this picture of him with his palm pilot while Andrew entertained the children at the funeral home with a little
Calvin and Hobbes. In all, Andrew had five children at his feet as he read comic after comic to them. Some of the adults commented to Joey that they were so glad Andrew had come so the kids could be entertained. I am so thankful for the job my husband has and the opportunities that he takes to teach our children how to serve others. I am so blessed by my ministering men.

I think this is really sweet and neat.
Brooke,
You are doing an awesome job with this. It is so interesting to see the pictures and hear the day to day activities.
Love,
Mom Thompson
