Monday I declared "Teacher Workday" and we took the day off. The kids were very surprised but there was still work to be done. We spent part of the day together working on our Christmas lists for ourselves and for others. Yes, gone are the days of the Sears catalog--we had our laptops out and IMed each other when we found something. We are such the family of the 2008's. We had a blast plotting and planning the Christmas holiday. We are really trying hard to teach giving to our children and today we planned out specific ways that we will be giving this holiday season.
Joey and the kids headed off to cubscouts in the evening while I headed to ladies prayer time. I have affectionately termed our meeting A.P.E. time. A=Accountability, P=Prayer E=Encouragement and that is exactly what we have. It is always a treat to get together with sisters in Christ to pray. We prayed through John 17 tonight as we focused specifically on the prayer Jesus prayed for us. These ladies are awesome and their walks with the Lord challenge me. Their prayers take us to the throne. It is a sweet time. It was a great weekend and now it is back to the business of school.
