We are learning about color this week in Art. We have spent time learning primary colors and secondary colors as we have placed them on the color wheel. We have also experimented by mixing colors to see what new colors we could make. Alora was very excited every time she mixed two colors together. I have been using the book How to Teach Art to Children as my art guide. It is a fabulous resource and it teaches in a way even us, who are not art teachers, can understand and you use everyday supplies in majority of the projects.. I highly recommend it. It is on sale at amazon for $14.95 if you are interested in checking it out.
We posted our results on the wall in the classroom.
It was also Science Expermient Day! Since we are learning about color, I decided to experiment with color as well. Again, I went to http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/, and found an awesome experiment! This one is so cool; we have done it twice. Even Joey was amazed. On his site choose the experiment:
Color Changing Milk
The only supplies that are needed are milk, plates, water, food coloring, Q tip and dishwashing soap. The results are awesome and you and the kids will say, "Wow!"
