Valentine's Day was a family day for us. We began the day with basketball games and then headed to Glow in the Dark, Indoor, Putt-Putt Golf afterwards. We had alot of fun even though I totally lost. I do not have much patience for serious putt-putt competition but my guys really like it. Alora doesn't have much patience with it either and uses the putter slide method to get the ball in the home. This technique of pushing the ball to the hole works for her. After putt-putt we headed to Krispy Kreme donuts for dinner to wait in line for a dozen heart shaped donuts! They were so cute and the kids really enjoyed watching all the little hearts go down the conveyer belt and get soaked in glaze. They were awesome. We headed home for dessert--homemade omelettes! (the kids love my omelettes) and then Andrew and I curled up to watch one of our favorite shows--Ace of Cakes! This is where we get all of our inspiration in cake baking. Today, Andrew was talking about putting sticky tack on a poster in the classroom to get it to stick to the wall better and this is what he said, "You could roll out the sticky tack, like fondant and then stick it to the back and that will really make it stick." Like fondant! That is my little cake baker! Did you catch that we had donuts for dinner and omelettes for dessert. I had to think of something quick--we were headed to Chuck E Cheese and it was packed. So I, being a quick thinking mother of improv, declared, "Donuts for dinner and Omelettes for dessert! The kids thought it was a great idea and we had a fabulous and cheap Valentine's Day.
