+2.0 and -5.0

This week is a landmark week in my fitness journey for a couple of reasons:

1) I ran four days this week, totaling 6.5 miles, the most I have run in one week.

2) I ran by myself one of those days, which is a big deal because it really motivates me to have my running partner by my side and history has shown that if I don't have someone to run with, I won't run.

3) I got up this morning, Saturday, and ran at 6:30. I mean seriously, its Saturday and there we were blazing the trail.

4) I ran 2.0 miles straight this morning. Yeah! That is the most I have run without stopping!

5) My body is not writhing with pain, further proving that I had Fifth's Disease. Halleluyah! I am not decrepid and old, even though the grey hairs coming in full force in the sideburn area are saying otherwise.

6) I lost 5lbs!!! Woo hoo! Only 11lbs more to go to a not-so-flabby me. I am really looking forward to the day when I am running and I am not so aware of my derriere.

7) Junk food is not looking so good to me anymore. I kindof look at food and think, "Hmmm. I wonder what it will be like to carry that around the track." Because, believe me, running is very different when a brownie has been the fuel for the day vs. say, a banana.

Speaking of fuel, I am also about two weeks into my earlier-get-up time. I have to say, I used to think that my quiet time was best at night but I gotta tell ya, there is nothing like having time with the Lord in His Word first thing in the morning! Thursday has proven to be a hard day for an early wake up because of church on Wednesday night. I like to chat it up at the church house and then we get home late and then it is harder to get up. Maybe, I ought not chat so much, hmmm. The good thing is that the kids are more tired Thursday morning also so we all get up later giving me still ample time in the am for time with the Word before they are up and going.

All in all, it has been a great landmark week. I will save my weekend endeavors for another blog.
