Andrew loves art! For most of the year, we have not participated in many classes outside our home so that we could just get used to the homeschooling thing. This spring, however, we enrolled Andrew in art classes at the Museum of Fine Arts in Huntsville. The class focused on art projects that are 3D made from clay, recycled materials, wire and wood. The class was six weeks long, one day a week and he loved it!

His first project was made from clay. Most of the students made vases or bowls out of their clay but not Andrew. He made the world's tiniest chess set! Quite creative!

His next project was his puppet made from a bottle, straws, wood, tissue paper and other doo dads. Can you tell which one is the puppet and which one is the real boy? Move over Pinnochio; Hello Andrew!

His final project was made on the last day of class and I think it was his favorite. He made a bird out of tissue paper, wire and styrofoam. Everyone in his class loved it!

He received a certificate of participation and decided before we headed out the door that he wanted to go back in the fall. I just love it when we find something like this that he just really enjoys. We will definitely be going back. They offer drawing classes, sculpture classes, and all kinds of painting classes. Alora will also be going to art class in the fall. Other than the distance, we are thrilled that these kinds of classes are being offered to homeschoolers. We also love that the museum is situated next to a beautiful park. Alora has been doing her school work here while Andrew is in class.

School is drawing to a close. We will, for the most part, be finished by next Friday. I will be reflecting on our homeschooling experience in an upcoming blog.
