I have not posted much about my running as of late. Mainly, because after the 10k I have had some time readjusting. The week after I ran the 10k I was tired and recovering from, not only the race, but a crazy week and a half of travel and company. The next week I was really struggling, thinking I had just hit my max and then realized I was getting sick. It has taken me until the early part of this week to get off the NyQuil and Tylenol Congestion and Pain meds and live with less mucus. I have been running though and I have been discussing with my running partner a new set of goals.
We are definitely in favor of working to increase our miles. We are aiming to increase to a long run of 10-12 miles at a time by October. I am then going to be aiming at a 10k in Gulf Shores in October and a half marathon around November/December. After that we will see. There is another half marathon in the Spring but I have to see how the first one goes before I commit that far again. Leah and I are also going to do some local 5ks when we get the chance, just for fun. My ultimate goal is to do the Disney Marathon the next January but that is really dreaming and if I don't get there it is okay. It's nice just to say it out loud though--"I want to run the DISNEY MARATHON!" But that will be 2011 if I even get that far.
I have not lost anymore weight but everything fits differently. My hamhocks are definitely smaller based on the way the pants are fitting. Also, I am not totally grossed out at seeing pics of me these days, which I think is a definite improvement. However, I would like to mention here that my mother-in-law has lost a total of 41lbs!!!!! Way to go MeeMaw!!!! She is shrinking before our eyes! I will keep you posted as the goals keep getting met.
