Visits With Family

While home for Eryne and Josh's wedding, much family came for a visit. 2nd cousins Ashley, Ian and Owen and my Aunt Donna and Uncle Tommy came to stay for a while to enjoy the relaxed lake life. The kids had a blast playing together on the golf cart, in the lake and through the houses.

They were able to stay ten days and we were there when it was time for them to leave. These pictures crack me up! Not only were there three kids to transport, but also four pugs, or was it five? I honestly can't remember but from the pictures you can tell who is in control here.

He was ready to travel!

Too many back seat drivers for sure!

My Uncle Gene and Aunt Mary also came for a visit. It has been a very long time since I have seen either one of them and, although our time was short, we had a great time catching up and talking, in between time for me to sleep and decorate cakes. Seeing and spending time with my Uncle Gene brought back a flood of memories for me. He was truly the only christian I knew and recognized as a christian, outside of my mother, when I was a child. He took me to church for the first time and gave me my first glimpse of the gospel! In college he helped fund my trip to my first christian conference, Mission 95' in Lousville, KY; a conference that would change my life immensely forever. At that conference I knew that I would be in full-time ministry with my husband, Joey. I am so thankful to him for the impact he has had on my life and for showing me--the love of Christ. I can truly say that you planted seeds in my heart and helped to lay a foundation that God would build upon through so many others in years to come. I love you, Uncle Gene, and I thank God for you!

It has been such a great summer to catch up with family and friends!
