This year the kids are involved in a few wonderful things that are really adding to our educational endeavors. Andrew is taking drum lessons! He is the only drum student who his teacher has, apparently taking drums has not caught on. Andrew thinks its "AWESOME" and looks forward to the time each day he gets with his drum teacher. He is learning how to play a full trap set and is already making good progress. His only challenge--being left handed, of course. He gets it straight from his mom.

Alora is taking piano lessons. She has been pecking around on the piano for about a year now. Every time we go to my parents house she is playing us beautiful Christmas carols that Bibi taught her. This year it was time. She is doing very well and her teacher is just the sweetest lady you will ever meet--We love her!!! Alora is really picking it up quick. This week they are playing a duet for me--can't wait!

Tuesday Co op has been great for the kids. The classes are really accentuating what we are doing at home. They love their science lab the best although the other classes are fabulous too. They are studying Israel in their geography class and a different artist each week in their art class. This picture shows the boys in art class. Can you guess the artist they were studying? Drum roll.........Michelangelo, of course. The students had to lay flat on their backs and their paper was taped to the bottom of a chair. They had to paint the way Michelangelo did when he painted the Sistine Chapel. Fun!!! And tiring on the arms!
We are also field tripping and participating in activities with a group. We have already had our kickoff Rollerskating event that was loads of fun. Alora is able to participate with her BFF's, Caroline and Luke, because they joined too. Yeah! Andrew took his BFF, Spencer, with him also and had a blast. They are all making new friends in the group also. We have many events coming up in the next month, rollerskating day, Huntsville Botanical Gardens Scarecrow Trail, A scavenger hunt at a wildlife reserve and indoor pool day! We are just busy, busy, busy and loving every minute of it. We are thankful to find the opportunities to get involved with other homeschoolers. We are off to a great year!
