Our Last Day in San Fran!

The day began with a rented mini van and 6 eager tourists on Lombard Street, the curviest street ever. It was so cool and yours truly was in the driver's seat! I became the designated driver and what a driving experience I would have!

As we arrived at the bottom of the street there were other tourists taking our picture and waving and cheering us on! It was such a hoot. We were celebrities!

My next driving accomplishment was over the Golden Gate Bridge. I have to say, I prefer to run it but it was a beautiful day to drive it for sure.

We then headed to Marin County where we had brunch at the Dipsea Restaurant. I knew the day was gonna be spectacular when I order a Cafe Mocha and this is what I got! I mean seriously! I was wired the rest of the day!

We were off to Muir Woods to see us some Giant Redwoods. Gorgeous Forests, babbling streams, thick vegatation. It was AWESOME!

HUGE! I tell you!
God's magnificent handiwork displayed in towering trees!

My favorite line of the day came from a second or third grader on a field trip in the forest with his classmates and teachers. When asked by the tour guide, "What would make the salmon in this stream not want to swim here anymore?", the class was faithful to give thoughtful answers. One after another they fired off answers, "Bath in the stream!" "Throw your trash in the stream!" and then my favorite, "Do your business in the steam!"
WINNER!
He got my vote for the number one reason a salmon will not swim in the stream. Needless to say, the class and everyone around him snickered.

Look at these beauties!

Next up--Muir Beach. Spectacular coastline. Rolling hills. It was a picturesque day.

Only one thing though, dirt sand! I am definitely a Gulf of Mexico sand girl but the scenery was breathtaking.

Rocks were all over the place.

One unfortunate thing did happen though. While taking this picture, my brand new Mizuno tennis shoes were swept away off with camera inside! I caught the shoes as they were being drug out to sea but the camera was a quitter. My ancient beast finally gave up the ghost, rendering me cameraless. The pics already on it were salvageable but I couldn't take anymore pics. Only my phone would help me now.

We left Muir Beach and headed down HWY 1 for an amazing white-knuckle kind of drive headed out to Point Reyes Lighthouse. It was amazing, I am told, since I was driving and we were on the 1 going sometimes 10 mphs trying not to plummet to my death, I did not see much but the yellow lines-if you know what I mean. Every once in a while though, I would sneak a quick peek. The lighthouse was amazing! I wish I had more pictures but this at least gives you an idea. There were a lot of steps down to the lighthouse!
Even for one who runs-I had to stop and take many breaks on the climb back up. Whole 'nother set of muscles being worked!
ahhhhh! look at that bad boy! Fascinating! We drove home through Wine Country and had dinner in Sonoma before returning the car. What a day! What a Vacation! What an Amazing God!
