She has worked hard all year long. She has practiced for days and days and days. And on one night she would sit in a huge auditorium atop a stage, in front of a huge piano, on which she had never played. The nerves started a week before as she anticipated this night. If anyone knew Alora, up to the time we came home to home school, then they knew how shy she was. She would tuck her sweet head and maybe, just maybe smile a sheepish grin, but hardly ever make eye contact. After we came home, she blossomed into quite the social butterfly but is still shy when all eyes are on her. The nerves started a week ago. Thank goodness, we were able to get into the sanctuary and let her at least sit at the massive piano before recital time, earlier in the afternoon. We arrived at the recital to find that she would sit on stage with her teacher and she would go FIRST! No time for nerves now, it would be over soon. After explaining to her how this was gonna go down, she walked to the stage and took her seat quietly but confidently.
After a few moments and the introductions she took her seat and began. She played beautifully and did not miss a beat! She played three songs with style and poise. We were so proud.
Her piano teacher is fabulous and oh so precious. She loves Alora and has taught her so much.
Alora and Ms. Judy exchanged flowers and hugs.
Good friend, Amber, also performed at the recital. She plays guitar. These girls are just growing up so fast.
