A Mother's Day Celebration All Weekend Long

This past weekend was a celebration all week long. It all began on Saturday morning with Meemaw and Poppie coming for a visit. I prepared a breakfast casserole and Alora set the table. Meemaw and Poppie arrived at 9:00 am for a wonderful Mother's Day breakfast. The rest of the day was spent sitting outside talking and visiting. Meemaw and I did however, take a trip to visit CVS and Publix, for some coupon madness. We are trying to refine our couponing skills. We are sick I tell ya. The guys grilled burgers on our pit and we had a fabulous lunch together sitting outside in the sun. Alora was able to give Meemaw and Poppie a mini recital in the living room knowing that they would not be able to make it on Monday night when her for -real piano recital would take place. She played beautifully for them, showing off her year's worth of work. Thank you, Meemaw and Poppie for coming to visit and spend the day with us. We love you so much and are thankful for restful days of just talking and hanging out.

On Sunday evening, Mimi and Bibi came for a visit. I prepared a fine Italian meal of spaghetti and Texas toast with Key Lime pie for dessert. We went to the park and walked while Joey and the kids played disc golf. At the end of the night we discovered that Andrew did not have his glasses on and upon quizzing him, realized nobody knew where they were and so the search began. For about 1 hour and 1/2 we searched and finally found them after driving to the church and searching the whole house over. Where were they? Under Alora's bed hanging under the top bunk. It was a genius place to keep them if you can remember that you put them there! On Monday, we had a slow and relaxing morning, complete with Mimi's Cinnamon Biscuit Delight made by Alora, for breakfast and then we headed off to Huntsville for German Food!!! What a wonderful lunch. Next up- shoe shopping for Mimi and Bibi. They are now ready for some serious track action! Bruester's homemade ice cream on homemade waffle cones was next. Delicious! Lastly we headed home to get ready for Alora's piano recital that would take place that night. We are so thankful for time spent with Mimi and Bibi. We love you both very much!

We are so thankful for our moms and I am thankful to be one. There is no higher honor! Many blessings this Mother's Day!
