I show these pictures to make a point and I promise it is not to make terrible fun of my family. These pictures are proof that there should not be tvs in restaurants!

Hmmm... Where is Brooke? Behind the lens with no t.v. in sight. Maybe it would have been better for me if I had my own t.v. behind their heads but, alas, I was forced to enjoy them as they were entertained by the Harlem Globtrotters behind my seat. And so they become the subjects of yet another one of Mommy's blogs. :)

Joey and I made some decisions for our family yesterday and I want to share them as a challenge to you in case you are just like us. We made the decision to be careful with distractions. There is a point where one can think one is a multi-tasker but only find out that really, that can just mean attempting more than one task at a time but doing none of it well, or missing IT all together. For example, I was on the cell phone yesterday while checking out in Walmart-didn't speak to the cashier, I really more or less acted like she wasn't even there, until the end, when I, still with phone in ear, said a token, "Thanks". Did I do this well? If life is about loving people for the cause of Christ--nope, I didn't do this well. Another example, talking to the kids while I am on the computer. Do I really remember anything they said? Nope. These are just a few of the many ways my entire family distracts themselves and we realized that we are missing the boat BIG TIME.
Time is ticking. I can't stop time. But I can make the most of it and I guarantee, 10 years from now, we won't look back and think, "Hey remember the time we went out to dinner together and we watched t.v. in the restaurant, and had no social interaction." "Yeah. That was awesome." What would be even worse is if my child, 10 years from now, said, "Hey. Remember all those times I was talking to you and you were on your computer and you nodded and laughed like you were paying attention but I knew you weren't. Yeah. Those were great times."Time is Ticking- The question is-
What will we do with it?
