Andrew really hates going to Alora's gymnastics pratice. The waiting area is a tiny room and it is always packed tight with kids and parents. He complains mostly of the smell, which is, what I am guessing, a conglomeration of human sweaty funk, after school snacks, diapers and gymnasts. He just would rather sit in the car and I don't blame him. Well, about a month ago, my friend Holly, whose daugther also takes gymnastics asked us if we would like to sit in her car and learn how to crochet. Holly is always crocheting. We jumped at the chance to socialize because Holly is just fun with a capital F.

That day began the crochet club! Alora is quite jealous, since she is in gymnastics. But every Wednesday or/and Thursday, Andrew and Holly meet in the van for some crochet time. He reads her Calvin and Hobbs every once in a while and they crochet and hee haw. I have had one lesson but this past week sat right next to them in my car doing lesson plans; I hope to rejoin them soon.
We are making the most of every moment and having fun while doing it!
