Going to another city to take Alora to gymnastics has brought its challenges. One day, while waiting for Alora to finish, Andrew and I sat in the car outside the gym and watched a movie while running the air, only to, when it was time to go home, find that we ran the battery down. oops! DUN, DUN, DUN!- Joey to the rescue!Well this time, we were driving along, just after crossing a very large bridge when the car started to pull and there was that sound. badoon! doon! doon! RATS! I managed to pull the car over into a fishing area right off the road on the river. A very kind man pulled over to assist the poor Mom and her children only to find that our jack wasn't in the car! WHAT!?! I called Joey-- Where could it be? Joey- "In the garage." Oh, of course, cause it will do me alot of good there! This is a first for Joey; he is usually a very organized put-it-in-its-place kind of guy but not this time. The very kind man tried to unlock my spare tire with a tool that he left and retrieved from his office, but to no avail.
So DUN! DUN! DUN! Jason Cherry to the rescue! Jason got the specialized Tahoe jack from the garage and Joey met me on the side of the road. The very nice man who tried to do his good deed for the day was denied and went home dejected, his manhood in a shambles. Jason and Joey changed the tire and we were back in business. What did the kids do? Made the best of it and played on the side of the road. We have pretty durable kiddos who know how to have fun no matter where they are! The praise the Lord comes in knowing that I made it across the bridge without a blow out right in the middle of 5 o'clock traffic. Turns out I hit a piece of metal that has rendered my tire unfixable but we are safe. Thank you, Lord.

Last week we had a dead battery in the van two days in a row. The second time - we had loaded all our luggage and the kids to go out of town and it wouldn't crank. This time we went and got a new battery. Duh!
