While we were inside opening presents, it was beginning to snow outside.
Could it be--A WHITE CHRISTMAS!
We all went outside to take it all in. I can remember Christmas when we were wearing shorts--In Alabama, this is a rarety!
It was beautiful, but it didn't take long for us to realize that if it is snowing here then back home, it is probably snowing also. Being a Saturday, we began to get concerned about getting the pastor home to avoid ice shut down on the roads. We discovered that it was getting icy out there and so it was time to pack up and head back before the sun went down. We made a quick visit to Granny's house for Christmas lunch and then headed to the house.
Driving home the terrain went from green to white. It really was breath-taking. We arrived home just before sun down and unpacked the car.
The next day we rushed outside to enjoy the beautiful snow.
We were so excited to be enjoying the gorgeous snow. Little did we know there was more to come.
