Medieval Times-Family Game Night

We entered the Dark Ages right after Christmas and have really gotten into it.  Ok, let me back up--In History, we began our study of the Middle Ages.  We have been enjoying literature like King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and we have studied life in Europe during this time period. The word "smote" has become popular around our house and "dual" and "lance" are on the rise.
In January we started something in our family to really focus on family time.  On Tuesday nights, we have Family Game Night and one person gets to pick the game once a month.  The first Tuesday night we started this it was Joey's turn; he picked Yahtzee on the Wii.  The next Tuesday was my turn and I picked "Family Warfare Construction" (Isn't that sooo like me to pick something so cool and outlandish?!?)  During the week, in preparation for the night, Joey and Andrew went to Staples and purchased FANCY SMANCY Duct Tape (camouflage and black),  and likewise, Alora and I went and picked ours (zebra, and white).  Each team (girls and boys) was allowed two different types of Duct Tape and one big piece of cardboard.
It took each team about one hour and here are the results--Awesome Medieval Shields!!!  We fully intend on finishing the armor by adding swords (homemade, of course) and helmets.  I will post pics as soon as the war weapons are complete. I cannot tell you how much fun these two have had with their shields alone!  We can't wait to have full battle gear.  Yeah for family game night! Tonight it's Andrew's turn.
