Paint Day at Meemaw and Poppie's House

Last weekend we were treated to a special day at Meemaw and Poppie's house. It is a crazy coincidence but every child and grandchild in the family has a birthday between July and November with the majority of them in September and October. Meemaw, being the wise woman that she is, decided to have one big get-together and celebrate everyone. We grilled burgers, ate delicious desserts and were treated to some family painting time.
We were also able to spend some time with friends, Scott and Brittney. We all went to high school together and now have had the opportunity to meet up every once in a while through running or church activities. It was a blast to be able to hang out and catch up.Brittney is a woman of many talents: running, scrapbooking and leading our paint party. We each had our own canvas and some paints to work with. Brittney took us through each step as we crafted our masterpieces.
The kids were very focused and serious about their artwork while most of the adults, we found, were way too paranoid about our artwork. Apparently, the older we get the more lacking in confidence we are and the more giggly we are!
I love to paint!
In the end, everyone's turned out great. Each with our own artistic flair! Thank you, Meemaw, for coming up with a great family activity to share together. Notice Kenney, Pop, Joey and David are not in this picture. No pretty red canvases with ornate crosses out of them, at least, not when there is football to watch. Ahhh...male bonding. It was a great family day!
