Some Great Books

For the Family: We are loving this little gem by Sally Lloyd Jones. We have been using this book for our family devotion times that we have moved to the evenings just before bedtime. This has worked great for our family! This children's book has great illustrations and great text. Her purpose in this book is to show how each of the stories from the Bible (OldTestament and New) are about Christ. It's all about Him and we are loving reading the stories and to see how they point to Jesus! Alora and Andrew both can't wait until we finish reading each night so that they can tell us why that story was pointing to Christ. Love it. Their only complaint-"They are too short. We want more" Love it even more! We only read one a night and they are not too short. The stories are just right and lead us to great question and discussion time. Sally's wording is beautiful and has just made me smile many a night just enjoying my Savior. This book is a keeper for ALL ages. Check it out at Amazon.com

I read a great book recently about marriage and its permanence. This is a fabulous book by author John Piper. It shows how the marriage is all about Christ. Each marriage is a journey reavealing Jesus. It has changed the way I see a lot of things in my marriage. Some things have just become some trivial as they have held up to the LIGHT. My marriage is permanent and it is a picture of Jesus and His marriage with the church! Beautiful!
