The Days Are Just Packed

You might think these pictures are of a different day but they are not--It's still Day One and this is the view of what would have been considered Ground Zero.

There was one rose stuck in the side of the construction fence to remind us of the tragedy that occured here but if I had one word for this area its "Progress". The project is ongoing and the "new" World Trade Centers are slowly but surely going up. It is so hard to grasp the magnitude of the devastation that occured by being there now. The site is filled with construction machinery and men in hard hats. The buildings are in full construction. Quite amazing.

We visited Trinity Church on Wall Street, one of the oldest churches in New York City.

Here we found Robert Fulton (remember the steam engine)

and...

Alexander Hamilton (one of the founding fathers). Check out that inscription. Love it!

You gotta love it when the Queen comes to town.

Good ol' George Washington. Right across from the New York Stock Exchange stands a statue of our first president, where he took the oath of office when he became president.

If this picture doesn't just scream Wall Street, I don't know what does. Just think... our finances lie in the hands of these twenty something year olds!

Scary, I tell you.

We had a lovely lunch sitting outside the Stock Exchange--gyro from a cart!

Yeah for street meat!

I looked for Donald but no such luck.

It was a gorgeous day and we saw so much of NYC: Amanda's grocery store, the park, the water, Lady Liberty, the World Trade Center, Wall Street, NY Stock Exchage, Tiffany's, Trump Building, Cisterns, Times Square, and there was tons of walking and subway riding- FUN! To end the day we had a delicious homecooked dinner, chili, and game time with some of Amanda's closest friends there. The days are just packed and that is just the way I like them.
